Amalgamation Anyone?

We must be better than the sum of our parts.
If I am matter impacted, amassed, remembered
and you are matter impacted, amassed, remembered
then by simple arithmetic we are only that times two.
But if…when you and I collide
we allow for the constant of change,
then we are greater than the simple sum.
We are fusion — new and brilliant,
the cause of awe and wonder,
the promise,
the possible upon which
we all cast wishes.
