Under My Skin

I never hear bones crack
when we share skin.
Oh how easily
we slip into each other,
share the same space…..and time

transcendent

remembering
your rib cage
that holy parting
as if it were yesterday
and today
and tomorrow
curled against my spine.
But in this quiet bed

alone

the endless space…..and time
shatters bones
that pierce lungs
that make breath
to fill the silence.
