The Rocks at Nauset Beach

I would make them my diadem

string a row on golden twine
to wear around my neck

place the smallest in a cradle
set upon a finger, here

wrap them round my wrist
to keep tide’s time

were these ocean jewels
as light as my soul
when wrought along this shore.
