The girl who pushed me into walls
sat in front of us at church
on Sundays,
hands folded sweetly,
singing songs of praise
to the god who said
do undo others.
But there was nothing
particularly golden about her,
or my other classmates
who threw stones
and sticks and names
that did hurt,
as a matter of fact.
I scheduled an appointment
with the priest
to get his take on the
discrepancy,
but when I got to his house
the door was locked,
so I never went back.

This bullying hurts and angers me in so many ways. You were not alone in these experiences. God never leaves us, though we may not have felt His presence or protection the way we would have chosen Him to act on our behalf.
The silver lining, I suppose, is where we end up as a result of our experiences.
Yep!
