You cannot be a Dreammaker
sitting on your hands.
Hands cast spells
and make grand gestures.
Hands toss confetti
and pull loved ones close.
You cannot be a Dreammaker
if you are only a Wisher.
Wishers only wait,
hoping for flashes of brilliance,
and windfalls of things
they just don’t have.
You cannot be a Dreammaker
if you don’t take Risks,
toss them in the back seat
and drive a thousand miles
to grab brass rings
and fistfuls of joy.

To accomplish great things. We must take risks. Can put us in a scary position. Thank you for sharing the positive and hopeful wisdom.

It’s not always easy to take risks – but the results can often bring us to exactly where we’re supposed to be!
How true, especially that you can’t be a dreammaker if you are only a wisher!
Exactly! I have a “vision board” in my office – dreams and goals and such – and it occurs to be often that if I don’t DO SOMETHING about them, it’s only a bulletin board with pretty pictures on it.
these words really speak to me… and this grimshaw fairy was one of the images i recently posted on my facebook page – thanks for this pairing…
Thanks! And I love that image, too!
This is such a delight, Jen. I would love to use it in a high school English class. Thank you!
What a nice compliment! Thanks! : )
This is just what I needed today! Thank you. :-)
Always good to remind ourselves to take risks, right?
