I’m sorry.
I should know better than
to meddle,
to question,
to interrupt your flow.
Who am I to second-guess
your intentions?
Every time I do —
every time —
I end up in tangles,
somewhere I’m not supposed to be,
like stepping in chewing gum.
All I can do now
is let go of the rope —
give up
stop
step away.
Hopefully I caught it in time
this time —
and everything goes back to how it should:
your intentions,
my ego,
your plan.

Like stepping in chewing gum …
Been there. Ugh!
I usually scrape it off, but I think sometimes you just need to get a new pair of shoes.

Exactly. Scrape and move on…
This is like a conversation I need to have regularly with God.
Amen.
